Three Harmony Waco Seniors Earn $33,000 in LEAD Scholarships

Harmony Public Schools-North Texas is celebrating three Harmony School of Innovation-Waco seniors who earned a combined $33,000 in scholarships through the Greater Waco Chamber's Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD) program.

The students were among 14 scholarship recipients selected from across Greater Waco during the program's annual recognition banquet, where more than $104,000 in scholarships was awarded to local high school seniors.

Clarisa R. received the prestigious $20,000 Bradley Ray Hulse Memorial Scholarship and plans to attend Tarleton State University to pursue a degree in nursing. Jorge C. earned a $10,000 All Star Scholarship and plans to study aerospace and mechanical engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Nikki G. received the $3,000 Alton Davis Memorial Scholarship and plans to attend The University of Texas to study architectural engineering.

“These scholarship recipients exemplify the dedication, leadership, and academic excellence we are proud to foster across Harmony Public Schools,” said Harun Karan, area superintendent for Harmony Public Schools-North Texas Secondary.

The LEAD program connects local high school students with industry professionals through mentorship, career exploration, leadership development, and life-skills training. Since 2005, the program has helped prepare students for college and career success while awarding more than $900,000 in scholarships.

The scholarship recognition highlights the hard work, leadership, and future aspirations of Harmony students as they prepare to make an impact in their chosen fields and communities.
