Harmony Science Academy-Carrollton Educator Named Harmony Public Schools-North Texas District Teacher of the Year

Harmony Public Schools-North Texas is proud to announce Zhyldyz Kudaibergenova, affectionately known by her students and colleagues as Ms. Nova, of Harmony Science Academy-Carrollton as the 2025-2026 Secondary District Teacher of the Year.

A dedicated social studies educator, Ms. Nova was recognized for her outstanding commitment to student success, meaningful classroom engagement, and positive impact on the Harmony community. She was selected from a distinguished group of campus-level Teachers of the Year representing campuses across North Texas.

Known for building strong relationships with students and creating engaging learning experiences, Ms. Nova inspires students daily through her passion for education, leadership, and commitment to helping every student grow both academically and personally.

Ms. Nova was honored by her peers during the district’s recent end-of-year awards banquet, where educators and leaders gathered to celebrate excellence across Harmony Public Schools-North Texas.

“Teachers like Ms. Nova embody the mission and values of Harmony Public Schools through their unwavering dedication to students and passion for learning,” said Harun Karan, area superintendent for Harmony Public Schools-North Texas. “This recognition reflects not only excellence in the classroom, but also the meaningful relationships and positive impact that outstanding educators create within their school communities every day.”

As District Teacher of the Year, Ms. Nova will advance to represent Harmony Public Schools-North Texas at the regional and state level.
